Hello, my name is Annya Marttinen and I am an illustrator & independent business owner. I grew up in many parts of Canada but currently reside in Brantford, Ontario. I received my diploma in graphic design in 2013 but these days I spend most of my time painting and drawing with my 3 rabbit assistants (Oats, Olive and Peaches). My work is mainly inspired by quiet everyday moments, mythical creatures, children's literature, and my fondness for the cozy comforts of home. I work in both traditional and digital mediums.
I’ve painted my way through life for as long as I can remember, my earliest memory was a rabbit portrait in watercolour. When my pencil isn’t in my hand you might be able to find me with my nose in a book, throwing around ingredients in the kitchen, flowing through a yoga sequence or on a fast-paced walk with an audiobook in my ears.
